Cameron Peel - Business Development Manager

I grew up in the logistics world through my father starting Camrett when I was 6 years old. I was always intrigued by supply chain and how products got to the stores. I thought in high school that I would want to be an international logistics expert traveling the world and solving logistical problems for companies. I started my path towards that at Old Dominion University (ODU) in 2007 with a double major in Maritime Supply-Chain Management and Decision Sciences. While I attended ODU, I was nominated to present at the Colonial Academic Alliance Undergraduate Research Conference. My presentation was on the entire supply chain of one Gatorade bottle. During my time at Old Dominion, I was heavily involved in the Propeller Club and an internship with Expeditors. At Expeditors, I learned the process and flow of documentation to move international freight. After graduation, I took a job with Con-way Multimodal in Ann Arbor, Mi to become a freight broker. At Con-way, I learned the necessary skills to make it in an inside sales environment. I learned quickly that the more people know my name, the more I was able to sale. After Con-way, I took to the streets and entered outside sales by selling boxes for Pratt Industries. Pratt taught me when, where, and how to schmooze a customer and to make the customer your friend. If your customer is your friend, and vice versa, then you are always working no matter how much fun you are having! Camrett purchased a building in 2015 that would double the size of the company. With the new building, I decided to cut ties with Pratt and move back to Southwest Virginia to become the Business Development Manager for Camrett. At Camrett, my focus is growing organic business and bringing new opportunity to the company. Being at a family-owned company, I understand the extreme importance in relationships, both with our customers, and most importantly, our employees.

Started by Collin Peel in 1995 with one straight truck and a 10,000 square feet warehouse in Rural Retreat Virginia, Camrett has expanded to 4 warehouses and over-the-road transportation in over three states.
